The Hollywood Librarian, the first movie about the real lives and the actual work of America’s librarians, is premiering during Banned Books Week in libraries across the country.
A unique and charming blend of film clips, humor and critical analysis of the popular image of librarians, The Hollywood Librarian encourages a new-found empathy for the profession by revealing the diversity of individual librarians and the importance of what they do.

Crown Library will be showing two screenings:

  • MONDAY, OCT. 1 (time and location TBD)
  • THURSDAY, OCT. 4 @ 7pm in the Bluhm Lecture Hall (in Parmer).

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Crown Library.

Although the Crown Library will be selling tickets for the film, librarians, library staff, and library school students are FREE (but you’ll still need to get a ticket for entry).

Tickets should be available next week.

For more information about the film including early reviews and a preview clip, check out the Web site at http://www.hollywoodlibrarian.com/

I can not wait. This movie should be a lot of fun, and I’m not sure that my non-library friends would have any interest.
