Project Runway and the 2008 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago

FASHION DESIGNERS WANTED!  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.

Channel your inner fashionista and be a part of this exciting event that’s debuting at the 2008 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago.

Submit an official entry form with a sketch and description of an original library-inspired fashion or fashion accessory (hat, tie, purse, etc.) to enter. The top fashions will be unveiled on the runway at the “Style from the Stacks” Fashion Show at the Chicago City Centre Hotel on Thursday, September 25th, 2008 at 8:00 pm as part of the ILA President’s Event. The show will be hosted by Steven Rosengard from Project Runway: Season 4.

You may choose from one of these categories for inspiration:
1. Creative use of library materials (microfilm, discarded books, paperclips, etc.)
2. Literature-inspired (Mother Goose to Edgar Allan Poe, anything goes!)
3. Libraries of the future
4. Other (let your imagination run wild!)

RULES:

-Entries may be submitted as a group.
-Participants may submit more than one design.
-Participants must be affiliated with an Illinois library or attending a graduate program in library science in Illinois.
-Chosen designers will provide the supplies for their finished outfit.
-Chosen designers will provide a model for the fashion show.

The chosen designers will be notified by July 25, 2008 or earlier. Acceptance of your design includes complimentary registration for the ILA President’s Event:  Style from the Stacks
