On Tuesday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m., LISSA will be taking a tour of Elmhurst Public Library. We invite all LISSA members and friends to come and join us.
Elmhurst Public Library’s current building was built in 2003 and is a good example of a modern library. The
building features wireless and wired Internet access throughout the building, a drive-up window and outdoor book drop for convenient pickup and return of materials, express checkout stations for convenience and confidentiality, 84 computers with Internet access, databases and programs, and a computer training lab for hands-on classes. The tour is a good opportunity for students to get an insiders view of how this services function in a modern library. For more information about the Elmhurst Public Library check out their website.
If you have any questions or you would like arrange a ride, please, contact us at lissa@dom.edu. We would also appreciate it you plan on attending to let us know beforehand.
P.S.-In the lobby of the Elmhurst Public Library, actual French nuns run a coffee and pastry shop, so it is probably worth coming just to check that out.
